Mind detox

When we first embark on this path, the first order of the house is spring cleaning. As we sit and watch our mind, we start to notice:

  • under our carpets there are old mouldy ways of seeing life that have been instilled in us
  • behind the armchairs is litter, made up past snap-shots of events and people
  • underneath the cupboards are buckets of trivia

and adorning the house are all our attachments and desires that are no longer serve us.

These are the patterns of conditioned thoughts that run continuously on stand-by to be activated at the slightest trigger or perception. These are the clouds that block our sun of wisdom and compassion.

Identify and update expired programs, beliefs and thoughts.

Be mindful and let life’s happenings flow in the now. Such as letting noises be sound waves and refrain from labelling reality.

Try not to grasp, interact on to the arising phenomena but rather, remain with a non-reactive acceptance attitude. Then, what comes up gets released.

That is cleaning the floor of the mind

That is how the mind is purified

            A stilled glass surface.

Most people spent their whole life littering, cluttering the mind and never learning how to let go and purify. Once we begin to slow down, be in silence and pay attention; we start to be aware how noisy, how crowded and how dirty our mind is.
